A Stellar Easter for the Ritz-Carlton Maldives

I have such a fun project to share, and it’s the perfect time in the run-up to Easter! My favorite client-astronomer Tom Kerss is going to be the expert in residence at the Ritz-Carlton Maldives this Easter, and it looks like it is going to be an amazing program of activities. Because I have illustrated Tom’s Starry Stories series of children’s books, the team at the Ritz reached out to hire me to create the illustrations for this special event! I couldn’t have been more excited, as it’s a fun new client for me, and a chance to work with the starry imagery I love creating for Tom’s books.

The series of events are all based around the legend of Lepus the Hare, a constellation you may not be as familiar with who sits at the feet of the more-famous Orion in the night sky. The Ritz team created a narrative based around Lepus combined with storytelling derived from The Little Prince, and it’s a magical, interplanetary adventure! 

I had such fun brainstorming lots of different ways to incorporate these fun themes into Easter illustrations, and I love the final product. The illustrations are being used on the event brochure and printed pieces that will be at the event as well as decorative items. The Ritz-Carlton Maldives looks like the most AMAZING location, and I am so happy to have my illustrations basking in all of that island sunshine, even if I won’t be there myself!
