Setting the Scene

Once a month I send an eblast to my past and present clients, to brighten up any boring inboxes and share a little bit about the kinds of things I illustrate. This month the theme is Setting the Scene, which includes landscapes and scenery from past projects, which I love drawing! I so enjoy including rolling hills and distant mountains, dense forests or leafy meadows, and adding in the buildings, animals and other details that show someone’s living in the landscape. Here’s a roundup of some of my favorite locations….

The Three Bears go for a walk, from Goldilocks
Greenwich Park, from The Squirrel That Watched the Stars, by Tom Kerss
The Story of Isa, from Five Minute Quran Stories, published by Goodword Books
Evening Breezes, from Little Lamb: The First Christmas by Lisa Diffenbaugh
Bear Looks for a Cave, from Breathe Like a Bear Board Book, written by Kira Willey and published by Rodale Kids
Levi at the Solar Field, from Levi the Lamb’s Big Day by Scoppechio and LG&E KU
The Story of Ayub, from Five Minute Quran Stories, published by Goodword Books
Bunny Hops Away, from Bunny Breaths, written by Kira Willey and published by Rodale Kids
