Blooming Colorful

Whenever I have a little bit of free time, I like to create new flower pictures to sell in my Etsy shop. I love flowers and plants, and I have a lot of fun coming up with plant and flower forms that are like something you’d find in nature, but aren’t actually based on real plants. Also, perhaps even more importantly, for me making these pictures is about playing with forms and colors and ending up with something big and splashy that can add energy and color to someone’s home. I love color the way I used to love candy when I was a kid, and making illustrations like these is a chance to bask in the vibrancy of these colors. It makes me feel good to drink in bright hues, especially when they’re combined to create unexpected palettes. It’s also such a thrill when a customer from my shop tells me how the print they ordered completed their living room decor, or was the centerpiece of their apartment redecorating plans, or just that they loved the print when it arrived in the mail.
