Happy Halloween!

If you know me, you know that Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and always has been. This year I was inspired to create a couple of new spooky-themed illustrations, just for fun. I love getting to draw some of my favorite motifs in a bold, Halloween-y color palette.

The first one is a collection of Halloween critters, because I love animals and it’s fun to draw the ones that are associated with the spooky season! I just love this color palette, something about the bright jewel colors jumping off such a deep saturated background.

The second one is of the ultimate potions cabinet, full of cubbies, shelves, tiny drawers and nooks. (I wish I had this piece of furniture in real life, I am ALWAYS drawn to tiny drawers and pigeonholes!) Nestled within are lots of glass bottles and jars full of potion ingredients, animals, books, and other small items that might be useful to a witch or wizard. I feel Professor Snape would love something like this in his office, and I enjoyed including several gruesome body parts and some more ethereal items such as lightning and a ghost. I hope you have fun spotting all of the different ingredients hidden within!

Happy Halloween to you, and I hope you have a fun, spooky weekend full of frights and candy!
